Skulls | Texture/Rendering Study

I used this project to experiment with texturing, lighting, and rendering. The skull was sculpted in Zbrush and textured in Substance Painter. I created a few different materials using the same textures and tried to get some different effects using Arnold to render them. Finally, I uploaded the whole thing to Sketchfab to test some real-time rendering.

Iray render from Substance Painter. There's a little bit of SSS to give the skull some depth

Experimental render in Arnold. Played with some settings, and SSS. Applied lights to the eye sockets. Thought the effect looked cool.

Same render/shader settings as previous render.

Used SSS with a mask to direct the effect. Wanted to make the stone parts look like they had a hint of blue. Mixed with the orange light, I thought it gave an interesting effect.
